Join local historian and preservationist Sharon Wells as she discusses historic landmarks in Old Town, Key West.  The cultural, historic, literary and architectural heritage of Key West’s historic neighborhoods comes alive in her commentary and personal observations, anecdotes and involvement in Key West’s historic resources for nearly 40 years.

On this tour Sharon will address the economic and visual impact of the historic district, the National Register of Historic Places and local preservation ordinances. Learn about landmarks from the mid 19th century, significant owners of note, and the unique features of some of Key West’s most beautiful homes. A leader in America’s historic preservation movement since the 1960’s, Key West has three National Register Historic Districts, with over 3,000 historic sites, a majestic lighthouse and Civil War forts.
