From a Woman's Hand

Join the Key West Art & Historical Society when it rekindles its popular juried exhibition, From a Woman’s Hand which focuses on artwork created by women in the Florida Keys.  The exhibit illuminates the remarkable achievements of women artists, redressing gender imbalance in the art world.  Drawn entirely from the Florida Keys community, the exhibition will feature nearly 40 paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawing, prints, textiles and ceramics.

The Society’s exhibit is open to and inclusive of all women artists working in the Florida Keys, regardless of gender identity, self-identity, expression or status. All artistic mediums will be considered.​

From a Woman’s Hand is on view from March 16 – July 15, 2018 in the Custom House Museum’s Bumpus Gallery.  The show will be juried by Jane Grannis, Martha Resk, Betty Gay and Cori Convertito.

The deadline for submission is February 23, 2018. Artist notification is on February 28, 2018.  Art Delivery to the Custom House Museum is between March 5 and March 9, 2018.

Submissions are limited to one per artist.  The entry fee is $15, which will be used in the promotion of the exhibit and the exhibit opening reception. APPLY HERE

Eligibility

Accepted entries MUST be identical to submitted images or the work will not be exhibited. Acceptance implies the use of your images and your name in any printed or online publicity. All work must have been completed within the last three years, originals only (no reproductions), and cannot be completed under the direction of an instructor.

**Please note that the Custom House Museum CANNOT offer artwork for sale during the exhibition.

Image Usage Rights

PROMOTION: All entrants grant the Key West Art & Historical Society the right to use or publish images of their work to promote the art exhibits, future call for entries, videos, or the art galleries. Selected entries may be included in our online gallery, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or newsletter for the purpose of promoting artist and shows.
